Tips for Healthy Skin During the Winter

Wintertime has always been a tough time for me and my skin. It’s always a constant battle of finding enough moisture without making my skin too greasy. As someone who has struggled with eczema and now recently diagnosed with psoriasis, finding the right product and skin care routine has been one of my skincare priorities. Here are some of my tips that I think could benefit anyone this winter.

1. Get yourself a humidifier! You spend your winter days either outside in the harsh cold or inside in the blasting heat. Going from either extreme can have a big impact on your skin and cause it to dry out more. I know humidifiers can cost CRAZY amounts of money but definitely do some research. I came across a lot of DIY YouTube videos on how to make homemade ones. You can also do simple things like getting a nice houseplant, air dry some of your clothes and leaving a cup of water out by the heater (not too close of course). Anything to add moisture to the air can greatly benefit you!

2. Drink lots of water! This one seems like a no brainer, but you would be surprised at how many people don’t enough water. I personally tried walking around with a small reusable water bottle, but I would drink all the water and not refill my bottle. Now, I invested in a big 2.2L jug that I carry around all day. I can honestly say I haven’t had a breakout or dry patches of skin on my body and face in months. I bought the jug at Walmart and at most I spent $4.50 CAD.

3. Moisturize your skin! Finding a good moisturizer has always been a battle. I don’t like the feeling of having a thick layer of moisturizer on my face. I also hate when my face feels greasy. Try using the Dynami Protect Moisturizer! It’s made with jojoba oil, avocado oil, grape seed oil and shea butter. All ingredients used to keep your skin moisturized and protected. It’s an amazing moisturizer and it’s not too thick and not too thin. It doesn’t clog pores and your skin feels moisturized all day. Make sure to be constantly moisturizing your skin after showers!

4. Switch up your skincare routine. This doesn’t mean completely change it but maybe adding or changing a few products during the winter and summer. Your skin needs extra love around this time. These are just a few of my tips for winter time skincare but I’m always changing my skincare routine and doing what’s best for my body.
